Our different kinds of sod

Springhill Sod Farm continues to work and develop new varieties of sod for our ever-changing environment and our customer demands. You can always look to Springhill Sod to be constantly searching for better ways to improve sod and its production.

Bluegrass Sod

For 35 years Springhill Sod Farm has been providing a premium blend of bluegrass sod for Gallatin Valley residences that is not only beautiful and will enhance the value of your home but will also give you years of enjoyment and stand up to the rigors of your family barbecues and volleyball games. We formulate our mix of six different varieties of bluegrass so that the sod will be healthy enough to resist the bugs and heat of mountain summers while being strong enough to handle the cold and frost of harsh Montana winters. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions you may have about the care and feeding of your bluegrass lawn.

Fescue Blend

Springhill Sod Farm also offers a Fescue blend of sod that we feel will give you more flexibility in watering and mowing. Our Fescue, which is native to this region, offers great drought and shade tolerance and can easily adapt to poor soils. It is blended with a hardy, northern, strong performing variety of bluegrass that will give your lawn more color and wearability. Our fescue is much more affordable than other esoteric and hybridized bluegrasses.

Our fescue blend sod is drought-tolerant and can adjust easily to poor soil quality.
